How To Connect Manual

IP (H.323)

  • Remote IP sites will connect to IP Bridges (MCU's) around the nation that will connect to Strand 1 via the Internet2 Commons MCU located at the Ohio State University and to Stand 2 & 3 via two MCU's located at IUPUI in Indianapolis, IN.
  • Interactive sites should set their speed at 384K (H.323)
  • IP Sites will receive information about which MCU they will be assigned to for the Keystone Conference.
  • IP Sites will receive all three strands from one MCU.
  • Due to the possibility that IP addresses can lead to firewall violations, IP sites will be using the Global Dialing Scheme wherever possible. Detailed instructions will be provided by your MCU at a later date.
  • Detailed instructions for IP testing, certification and support will be provided when the IP Bridges are identified.

Streaming Video

  • Streaming Video will be provided by the Vbrick VBXcast in industry standard MPEG-4 format via unicast on the public Internet and via multicast on the Internet2. Registered streaming sites will receive a url to connect to live streams.
  • Streaming speed will be 384 kbps.
  • We recommend that you install and use Quick Time to view the streamed video http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
  • Streaming sites will be sent the website address for the Keystone Conference video streams by mid September.

ISDN (H.320)

  • ISDN Bridging service providers are to be announced soon.
  • ISDN Speed will be 384K (H.320)
  • ISDN Participants will receive a separate dial-in telephone number for each of the three strands on the ISDN bridge they will be assigned to.
  • Detailed instructions for ISDN testing, certification and support will be provided by the ISDN bridging company.
